Budding chefs on a day at home.......

The top photo is taken at the Ekka, I took lots more photos, but couldnt capture any great ones as the kids and the animals were all moving so fast.  Annabelle and Matilda were a bit afronted by the animals coming up and nudging them for food.  Olivia..... could be heard louding asking 'can I ride this one??  What about that one, can I ride that one?'

This is Olivia practising for summer.  The kids are into getting dressed up into their swimmers - including the 'gobbles' and floaties.

The next run of photos come from a very unplanned cruisey day at home this Saturday.  Matilda and Annabelle managed to get out of their pj's around midday, and Olivia ended up having a jarmy day.
Annabelle had been telling me all morning that she wanted to make a 'real mixture with the ingredients in your kitchen' (followign Olivia making a cake with wooden beads).  At midday I finally gave in, but told her (much to her disappointment) that I would have to help... you know, with the reading and turning the oven on etc.  The kids were pretty much in control though and they had so much fun making 'Nans basic cake' - the cake I swear I grew up on.

So, from the third photo -
3.  Annabelle telling me which ingredients she wanted me to get
4. both girls ready to go with their aprons on
5. Annabelle pouring the mixture into the tin
6 & 7. doing the cleaning up - of course!!  Actually, I think they were nearly as excited to do the dishes as to cook the cake.  I have just realised that I didnt take a photo of the finished cake.  Too late now..... none left!
8.  This is Olivia having gotten 'dressed up for the photo' - note the jumper, shoes and necklace
9.  A photo taken by Olivia of Matilda, me and Annabelle. She is pretty good at photos for a 3 year old.

The kids were so proud of the cake - we had Damians dad and a friend of his over the this afternoon and they proudly took the plates out and offered 'tea and cake'.
