April 2010 (2)

From the top:
1. Olivias standing up just keeps getting stronger. This is her peering over the edge of the lounge - she thinks this is a great joke! She has now started to lean on things and if they move she will step forward with them. Anything that can be climbed up is fair game - chairs, tables, bathtubs, my legs. She is slowly mastering the art of falling safely/without knocking herself out, and the art of doing the splits - the polished floorboards provide a great challenge when she is wearing her all in one suits.
2. Bought the kids some sleeping bags to go camping in. They thought they were the best toys and played in them all afternoon - lots of giggles. Matilda on the left.
3. Another example of Olivias talents. I spent the whole time while trying to take the photo expecting her to fall flat on her bottom when the door opened, however she managed to do the splits first. Quite funny! Check out the first hair cut too. I have trimmed her fringe a couple of times, but this was the first go at taking some of the longer bits at the back off.

From the top:
1. Gorgeous girl in the bath!! Olivia absolutely loves bath time and is really fascinated by the water. She had just dunked her face in the water and had bubbles all over her chin. The bubbles were really hard to catch on camera though.
2. Took the kids to Australia Zoo and was so excited when they didnt scream at all the animals (which had happened in the past). In fact they were so excited and patted a goat, some piglets, a sheep and even fed the elephants!
3. Matilda on a waterslide at the local pool.
4. Making sushi as a family. I spend lots of time cooking with the kids. Its getting harder now Olivia can move, but cant yet understand 'just wait a minute'.

Oh Dear.......

Oh Dear,
I just cant believe how quickly Olivia has decided she needs to keep up with her sisters. In the last week or two she has managed to: sit up from a lying down position quite capably, now sits up confidently (falls over occassionally but usually only when there is something distracting her), got her second bottom tooth and, to my horror, is climbing her way up things. She seems to think she can do this on anything and often chooses legs on chairs or something thin to climb up, gets halfway up and then gets the wobbles. Consequently she has had lots of bumps things week. When she does manage to find something wider to climb - like in the top photos, or like the sides of her cot, she gets up quite quickly and easily. Its just the getting down bit that is beating her at the moment.
So, the top three photos are from when we went to a playcentre this week for the older two to have a run around. You need to watch the photos from the bottom up - Olivia climbing up, accidently letting go and freaking out (she is definitly not standing by herself, this was just a very well timed photo), and her sheepish grin when she caught the toy on the way down.
The other two photos - All three girls on the boat when we took it out the other day - Annabelle in the middle, and Olivia enjoying the sand.
